Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation which we say PNF stretching for short. It is an advanced form of flexibility training that involves the contraction and stretching of muscles. It has been done a lot during the gym because of how effective it is.

Why is it Important?
PNF stretching has actually been known to have the most effect on having an increase of range of motion. It is a great way to increase your flexibility as well as make sure that you have a less chance of pulling something while exercising. PNF Stretching Techniques
PNF techniques are completed in three phases.
- Hold-relax
- Contract-relax
- Hold-relax with agonist contraction
Each phase will show the exact point to where they need to be in order to truly feel the stretch. The first phase has a 10 second passive pre-stretch that will help with the main second and third phase.
